Michele Iemolo

aka DJ MioLo

DJ MioLo (Michele L Iemolo) has been dancing with the EmbodyDance community since moving to Albuquerque in 2016. In fact, the first ecstatic dance she attended was the EmbodyDance at the Railyard. She recalls being immediately moved by the collaborative feel of the crew, from the door greeter, to the DJ. Since then, MioLo has been a dedicated dancer of Embody, often taking the train from Albuquerque to Santa Fe to dance with the community she loves. One of her dreams was to join the team as a facilitator and in the Summer of 2026, that dream came true.

A first-generation Sicilian, MioLo grew up in New York on; 90s hip-hop, Sinatra at home, raves in the city and learning to breakdance on a cardboard box. She danced her way through grade school and challenging times at home. To cover the cost of her dance lessons, MioLo cleaned the dance studio every Saturday and taught a jazz class for 4–5-year-olds. In her senior year, she took a job in NYC as a dancer with an entertainment company, often gigging with the crew at weddings and sweet sixteen parties. Her love affair with music and dance did not stop there. After high school, MioLo moved to Miami and pursued a career in the creative healing arts and again danced her way through college and graduate school. Dance, for her, has always been a way to express, release and heal. She often playfully states that dance is her “first language AND love language”.

Now with a background in various healing and therapeutic modalities, as well as completing an intensive DJ course, MioLo brings her magic and years of experience to the decks and dance floor. MioLo DJs as a dancer and draws from a range of genres, including EDM, Afrobeats, and House. Her dance sets are a mix of otherworldly soundscapes and pore penetrating drum beats. Her mission is to co-create interactive dance floors where raw expression, connection, and community converge. MioLo often weaves her DJ skills with sound healing, breathwork, as well as dance therapy-inspired exercises into immersive dance experiences. With rhythm as her ally, while attuning to subtle shifts in sensation and movement, MioLo guides you on an exploration of your inner landscape, then gently brings you back home to your embodied breath and heart. Join MioLo on a movement journey where bodies, breath and beats align. Come ready to move and leave feeling danced to your edges.

When not on the dance floor or behind the decks, MioLo works at her private practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as a psychologist and dance/movement therapist. She primarily works with young children suspected of autism and/or other neurodivergent populations. In addition to her work with young children, MioLo provides integrative therapy options for neurodivergent and neurotypical adults. MioLo is also a somatic breathwork practitioner, behavior analyst and registered yoga teacher. And most importantly, she’s a mother to 3 fur children (Thor, Stella and Meowzer Pants Jackson).
