Mark Glaser, aka DJ GLAZE, joined EmbodyDance as a DJ in April 2024, bringing with him a lifetime of experience as a DJ in various contexts and a deep appreciation for the transformative power of music. When Mark moved to Santa Fe in 2020, he discovered EmbodyDance through MeetUp and was immediately reminded of his time with a similar dance community in Marin County, the Groove Garden. Drawn to the opportunity to connect with like-minded people, Mark began dancing with EmbodyDance after the pandemic restrictions lifted. Inspired by the community, he transitioned into facilitating, crafting waves that bring joy and connection to the dance floor.

Mark’s approach to creating a wave is rooted in service to the community. As a dancer himself, he selects music that resonates with his own soul, trusting that it will inspire others. His eclectic taste spans many genres, but his primary focus is on curating songs that move people—body and spirit. While he enjoys experimenting with new sounds, his goal is always to ensure the music serves the dancers and the energy of the space.

For Mark, facilitating is about creating an experience that resonates on multiple levels: personal, communal, and joyful. Watching the dance floor light up with energy and joy is what fulfills him most as a DJ. A pivotal moment in his journey was creating his first altar for the dance community—a temporary work of art that invited meditation, prayer, and reflection. That experience deepened his connection to the practice and the EmbodyDance family, marking a significant step in his path as a facilitator.

Mark is especially drawn to music with melody, rhythm, and soul, often featuring powerful female soul singers in his recent waves. With every set, he strives to inspire movement, connection, and the sheer delight of being fully present in the dance.
